Deadline tomorrow 24 August for submissions for LASPO Part 2 government review

Part 2 of the LASPO Act: Litigation Funding and Costs MoJ Survey – DEADLINE TOMORROW 24 AUGUST 2018.

The Ministry of Justice is undertaking a post-implementation review of Part 2 of the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012 (LASPO). This relates to the reforms to civil litigation funding and costs in Part 2 of the LASPO Act taking forward Sir Rupert Jackson’s recommendations and deals with:

  • Damages Based Agreements;
  • Part 36;
  • QOCS;
  • Abolition of the recoverability of success fees;
  • Abolition of the recoverability of After the Event insurance premiums;
  • Costs budgeting and management;
  • Referral fee band.

As part of this, they are seeking evidence on the impacts of the statutory reforms in Part 2. The MoJ welcomes your feedback and intends to publish the PIR by the end of this year.
