Supreme Court approaches fifth anniversary with publication of latest annual report

The UK Supreme Court has seen ‘its busiest year to date’ according to the Court’s recently published Annual Report.

Laid before Parliament last week, the report shows the Court heard 120 more appeals than in 2012/13, representing an increase of 45%.  There was also a 49% increase in judgements delivered.

Despite the Court’s net operating costs falling by approximately £0.7m to under £5.2m, nearly 80,000 people visited the Court throughout the year – the highest number since 2009. Additionally, the Court’s official Twitter feed has now amassed over 75,000 followers, while its YouTube channel was watched 85,000 times.
