London Legal Walk – 21 May 2018

Once again Harmans fielded a team of walkers for what proved to be another balmy evening’s walk around the centre of London. Partners Gary Knight, Steve Jones, Mathew Knight and James Scott were joined by Marketing Manager Vikki Knight and two keen guest walkers, Faye Kitchener and Rachel McGregor. There was a record breaking turnout of more than 13,000 walkers from 750 teams.

Organised by the London Legal Support Trust, the charity walk raises funds for free legal services across London and the south east. The London Legal Support Trust do a great job of not only managing this growing event but also booking the weather every year!

Upon our arrival at a sunny Chancery Lane we were greeted by a buzz of excitement, the usual extremely tall policemen on stilts and human hedges together with an array of food and drink stalls and even the opportunity to get a selfie with Strictly star Judge Rinder.

There were two routes to choose from again – the usual Park route or the alternative River route. Us Harmans creatures of habit took the Park route and the girls set the early pace, fuelled by Haribo and the thought of liquid refreshment at the finish line. You could either use your drinks token in The Law Society or The Knight’s Templar or donate it back to the LLST and feel even more virtuous!

The London Legal Walk grows in strength and popularity each year which is excellent news for those dedicated people who maintain access to justice in the capital. The 2018 walk has already raised more than £700,000 with funds still coming in – a remarkable achievement.

It’s an excellent way to raise money for a very worthy cause and you get to take in some of London’s landmarks along the way. We hope to see you there next year.

Our sponsorship page remains open so there’s still time to support this great cause.
